This project is a kick start up of the design work where we will individually identity the 'escapade' for retreat identity and come up with a portable 'booth' for my escapade.
From the first IDP III class of this semester, my tutor told us that our final site will be at Ipoh Old Town. Since Ipoh Old Town is the place where most of the population are covered by Chinese, the retreat that I chosen is Mahjong, this is because the culture there the people like to gather together to play Mahjong when they are free especially the golden ages.
The idea are totally came out from Mahjong that why I named my project 'MAHJONG'. After I had chosen Mahjong as my retreat, I start designing my logo, my logo is a dragon holding the Mahjong card which most of the Chinese thinks that dragon is a feature that brings fortune and luck. The door signage designed base on the dragon as well. The "IN GAME" shows that the customer is out and the house keeping team may clean the room. The "SLEEPING" means the customer is sleeping or in the room and don't want anyone to disturb them. The merchandise for this project will poker chips box.
The kiosk design is an simple architectural design which able other to play Mahjong and also works for merchandise shop. This kiosk is able to works indoor and outdoor because it has moveable skylight roof to block sunlight and rain when it's needed.
